So you've had the interview, now what?
What happens after the interview is equally as important as what happens during the interview.
Following up after the interview is extremely important as it shows you're keen for the role. According to forbes, this can be the difference between you getting the job or a rejection letter.
Firstly, it could be beneficial to send a thank you note. Email the interviewer thanking them for the opportunity and their time, ensure that the email is unique to yo and not just something templated off the internet.
Not only does a thank you email show gratitude but it will keep you in the employers mind more than other candidates that didn't reach out afterwards.
Including details you may have picked up in the interview about them or the company will also show that you are a good listener and do genuinely care about the role.
When following up, it could be a good idea to mention anything you may have missed in the first interview. Explain why you thought it was important to mention this and refer it back to how it would help you with the job role.
Secondly, writing down what went well in the interview and what could have gone better is a great way to prepare for any other opportunities that come you way. Take it as a form of practising. Analyzing your interview will help identify the improvement areas as well as picking up typical interview questions.
Finally, be patient. Although this can be very hard to do, everything takes time. Once you've sent a follow up email just relax and message again after the time has elapsed of when they were to get back to you.
